Ingredients Required:

  • One chicken.
  • Ginger garlic paste.
  • Lemon juice.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Turmeric powder, chili powder, and cardamom.
  • Poppy seeds. (Tomatoes and coconut are optional)
  • Cashew nuts.
  • Take bay leaves or curry leaves.
  • Tame some cumin, cloves, and oil.
  • Finely chopped onion.
  • Garam Masala.
  • 200 ml of water.
  • Mint leaves.

Preparation Steps:

  1. Wash your chicken and drain off its water.
  2. Marinate the washed chicken with ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, salt to taste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and keep it aside.
  3. Dryly roast your poppy seeds to make them crunchy.
  4. Make its fine powder and add a little water to make a fine paste of it. If you are using coconut, you must add it with water and make the fine paste. When you don’t have a blender or have run out of poppy seeds, you need to prefer cashew nuts (10) and make a smooth paste.
  5. So, make a smooth paste of poppy seeds with water. You can use coconut or cashew to make a smooth paste.

The following steps are of the easiest way to make Andhra Chicken Curry.

  1. Take a deep pan to hear up the oil.
  2. Add bay leaf, cumin, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom to the heated oil. You can use curry leaves to replace bay leaves.
  3. Once everything is added, add salt to taste, onions, and chili. Let onion turn golden brown.
  4. Then add garlic and ginger paste to fry it. Let its raw smell disappear. If you want to use tomatoes, it’s time to add it. Cook it till tomatoes turn mushy and it beings to separate oil.
  5. Then add your marinated chicken to fry it on high flame for at least two to three minutes.
  6. Add the rest of the chili powder and mint leaves. Also add Garam Masala. Mix everything well and cook for at least two to three minutes. You can skip mint leaves if you don’t want them to be in your recipe.
  7. Add water to immerse the chicken and mix it thoroughly. For example, you can use 200 ml water for this recipe. However, it depends on the type of chicken you have been using.
  8. Cover your pan, and let it cook on low heat to cook the chicken thoroughly and make it soft and tender.
  9. You can also add your paste of poppy seeds. Once you have added everything, stir it well and cook it until you think the consistency is appropriate according to your desire. You have to be stirring to avoid the paste sticking to the bottom.
