The first gifts have been bought, now it’s time to pack. Patricia Morgenthaler has original ideas: how to pimp up “old” paper or what thickness is best for which gift size. In this article, we read about How to wrap presents?

Material

  • Paper bag in white in the size of your choice
  • White and pink cardboard for the ears
  • Cardboard in the color of your choice, e.g. purple
  • Wooden clothespin
  • Art or paper flowers
  • Black felt pen
  • Hot glue gun or glue
  • scissors

That’s how it’s done:

Cut two unicorn ears out of white cardboard. For the inside of the ears, cut the shape out of pink cardboard a little smaller. Glue both parts together with glue and bend the lower corners of the ears a little inwards. The ears are then glued approx. 1 cm inwards into the bag to wrap presents. Cut the unicorn out of cardboard and stick it on a wooden clip. Now glue the artificial flowers in the middle at a distance of approx. 2 cm from the opening of the bag. Draw on the eyes with a black felt pen and close the bag with the clothes peg.

  • Packing wine bottles

Material

  • Cardboard or scraps of wallpaper
  • Gift ribbon or scraps of wool
  • Test tube
  • Flowering and berry branches
  • Small tree balls
  • scissors
  • Adhesive tape
  • Hot glue or glue

That’s how it’s done:

Place the paper around the bottle and leave about 2-3 cm of paper protruding from the bottom of the bottle. Fix the paper with adhesive tape. Now cut into the protruding edge of the paper approx. 2-3 cm at regular intervals. Mark the bottle diameter on a piece of cardboard and cut it out. Fold the sections inwards and glue on the cardboard circle. Secure the test tube to the bottle with a cord or wool. To do this, wrap the bottle and test tube tightly with a cord and knot well. Attach 1-2 tree balls to the cord. Fill the test tube with water and place the flowers in it.

  • Paper folding technology

Material

  • Wrapping paper
  • Gift ribbons, cord
  • Adhesive tape
  • scissors

That’s how it’s done:

Fold one narrow side of the wrapping paper diagonally from the middle to both sides. Then wrap the gift in from the straight side and close it with the folded side (do not stick with adhesive tape). Now fold in the top and bottom sides and fix with adhesive tape. Tie bows from two gift ribbons. To do this, fold a piece of ribbon, slightly overlapping, and press it together with a little in the middle, so that a loop shape is created. Fix it with a piece of cord and knot it. For the second loop, put the ribbon in a loop and gather it in the middle until you have a loop shape. Also, fix this with a cord and cut the ends of the ribbon at a slight angle.

Wrap the gift ribbon around the gift and close it with a knot. Leave enough ribbon to tie it in a bow later. Now place the two loops on top of each other in an X-shape and knot with the ribbon. Tie a bow and cut the ends at an angle.

  • Woven drawstrings

Material

  • Matching colored cord tape
  • Berry branches or fir branches
  • Wrapped gift
  • scissors
  • Adhesive tape or hot glue

That’s how it’s done:

Place 3-4 strands of cord over the long side of the gift and fix it to the underside of the gift with an adhesive strip or a blob of hot glue to wrap presents. Now thread 3-4 cords over the narrow side of the gift through the fixed cords (as when weaving). Fix the cord ends on the underside of the gift with adhesive tape. Finally, thread a few twigs through the cord.

  • Presents with scraps of paper decorate paper Christmas balls

Material

  • Wrapping paper scraps
  • White felt pen
  • glue stick
  • cord
  • scissors

That’s how it’s done:

Cut out circles of different sizes as Christmas balls from scraps of wrapping paper and stick them on the gift at different heights to wrap presents. Put a cord around the gift and tie it in a bow. Use a felt-tip pen to draw ribbon on the Christmas balls and also paint on stars or star flakes.

  • Paper rosette

Material

  • Wrapping paper scraps
  • Remnants of cardboard
  • Little Star
  • adhesive
  • scissors

That’s how it’s done:

Fold two pieces of paper of the same size in a zigzag. Then bend the pieces of paper in the middle and glue the ends together.

Now both pieces of paper glued together and fanned out to form a rosette. Glue the ends together. Cut a circle out of cardboard and glue it to the rosette. Also, decorate with a small star and then fix the rosette on the gift with glue.
